Deliberately Lost

This will be my eleventh year returning to the Playa, and I’m particularly excited to navigate this one a little differently.

Prioritising sobriety, exploration, rest, dedicating time for art, other camps, meeting strangers, taking care of those I cherish, meeting all the parts of myself, deliberatly getting lost, and avoiding the stress around the musical sharings, and seeing the performances as an experiment.

I also want to explore receiving. Giving has always come naturally to me, but I’m becoming increasingly aware that receiving is an area where I struggle. Allowing myself to be guided, surprised, cared for, distracted, taught. Black Rock City feels like the perfect playground to bring more awareness to this.

I’ll be returning home to Sahar Camp at 9:15 & J, bringing ABOVE to the Playa for the second time with an incredible cast of extremely talented live musicians who also happen to be some of my favorite humans.

This project is one of the most beautiful endeavours I've undertaken in 30 years of music, and we are co-creating two sonic journeys from the noise of the mind to the wisdom of the heart on Wednesday evening and the closing on Sunday.

For all my other shows, I’ll be doing something completely different every day. Different music, directions, explorations, bpm's, moods, all of it. A deep dive into my music collection and psyche; I genuinely don’t quite know where each one will take me, which is exactly what excites me. Getting deliberately lost in my collection while surrounded by so much beauty and joy. And in the spirit of bringing more light and joy to the playa, we are doing a 90's block party Friday morning at Banger's only.
